The area around Split Bommie is ideal for students, for inexperienced divers or for those enjoying an intro experience. At the Split Bommie there are usually clouds of fish including black spot goatfish, starry toadfish, pomfrets and bullseyes and sometimes crayfish. There are beautiful egg cowry shells feeding on soft brown corals, many varieties of sponges and ascidians and sea urchins. It is not uncommon to see manta rays near the surface and other large fish passing through. Don't be surprised to see a black cormorant (sea bird) swimming by you at high speed at a depth of up to 15 meters.
