The main highlight while diving at the Japanese Wreck is not its remains but more the spectacular coral reef that originally sank it.

Dive site the Japanese Wreck has some small remains of a small Japanese fishing boat, which has struck the reef in the late 40s. Some say it is of Taiwanese origin, but this is not confirmed. Some of the interesting sights that still remain on the ocean floor are the engine block, cooling pipes and the anchor. The coral and marine life is probably more interesting than the wreck. You will see plate corals, anemones, large boulders and green turtles. And there is a large white tip reef shark that is named Smiley by dive operators that dive this dive site regularly.
